Tikehau Bird Island, a resting sanctuary for seabirds
Tikehau is known for its marine fauna, its pink sand beaches but also for the bird island. Indeed, like other islands of the Tuamotu, it is common for birds to take up residence on islets uninhabited by humans or other pests. It is recommended to take the services of a captain who will guide you on the motu Puarua, also commonly called the bird island where you can dock your boat and observe its fauna in its natural environment.
