– Discovery activities :
Transport provider VMT and professional local Makatea guide offering guided tours by bike or 4×4 from the wharf to the industrial relics of Makatea’s 60 years of mining history, passing beautiful views and belvederes, the remembrance trail through the old village to Vaitepaua’s administrative center and school, and then on to the old phosphate mining sites, beaches and cliffs, ending with a dip in the freshwater caves of Moumu.

Prices range from 5,000xpf to 12,000xpf per person per day, depending on your choice.

Rates are also available for occasional transport to various sites around the island.

Reservations can be made with one of the island’s 3 restaurateurs for a meal priced between 4000xpf and 6000xpf per person.
