The Committee for the Traditional Sports of the Pacific has close operational and cultural ties to Hawaii, Rapa Nui, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Tonga, Samoa, The Cook Islands, Fiji, Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna, California and Mexico. The Heiva Tu’aro Ma’ohi is the culmination of several months of effort for most of the participating athletes. The main disciplines of stone lifting, climbing and javelin require a combination of strength, agility and concentration.
