The Fakarava Shark Wall, a one-of-a-kind event.
The Fakarava Shark Wall is located near Tumakohua Pass, along a 25 meter drop off off the atoll. It is one of the largest concentrations of gray sharks in the world. During the months of June to July, the density of sharks can reach over 700 sharks in one place. It is a unique event of its kind.
It is possible to observe these marine animals up close while scuba diving. To access it, visitors must be aged 12 and over with a minimum diving level 1, the presence of a professional guide is strongly recommended, due to the weather, the level of dangerousness and other conditions to be taken into account.
